People in Need

People in Need is a non-governmental, non-profit organization based on the ideas of humanism, freedom, equality and solidarity. People in Need provides humanitarian aid in crisis regions, fighting poverty, strengthening civil society and focusing on development cooperation. It also supports human rights around the world and education in the Czech Republic and on help to citizens living in social exclusion. People in Need has worked in more than 60 cities of Czech Republic and more than 50 countries of the world so far. Nowadays People in Need aims on four main areas: Humanitarian Aid and Development Cooperation; Human Rights Support; Social Integration Programs; Educational and Informational Programs.

Médecins Sans Frontières

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflicts, epidemics, exclusion from healthcare and natural disasters. MSF offers assistance to people based on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. When MSF witnesses serious acts of violence, neglected crises, or obstructions to its activities, the organization may speak out about this.

Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology

Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology was founded in the 16th century as the first institution of Palacky University in Olomouc. Since the year 2003, the faculty has offered a Bachelor study in social and humanitarian work focused on current social and humanitarian issues in the Czech Republic and abroad. The program at this level is run in cooperation with CARITAS – College of Social Work Olomouc. In 2010, the faculty launched master's studies of International Humanitarian and Social Work. Students and graduates of the study program exert their experience and knowledge in organizations working in countries affected by humanitarian or protracted crisis. This study emphasizes development of students' managerial skills and competencies for community work in various cultural conditions.

Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University

Institute of International Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University works in field of area studies with respect to modern and current developments in Northern America, Europe, and Eurasia and emphasis on topics like collective memory, transformations, nationalism and violence. There are almost 900 students studying in several B.A., M.A., and PhD. programmes (Czech as well as international). The Institute participates in prestigious international research consortia (Horizon2020), organizes several Summer Schools and coordinates Erasmus Mundus programme European Politics and Society.

Czech Forum for Development Cooperation

FoRS – Czech Forum for Development Cooperation is a platform that brings together Czech nongovernmental and nonprofit organizations, academic institutions and other actors who are focused on international development cooperation, humanitarian assistance and global development education. The vision of FoRS is the world where there exist conditions for dignified life, and where human rights, as well as the principles of sustainable development, are promoted.


CARE Czech Republic is a branch office of the CARE International (CI) global confederation of 14 member organisations and their network, working together to end poverty. CARE works around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice, putting women and girls in the centre because we know that we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities. CARE Czech Republic cooperates closely with the CI partners, focusing the efforts on fundraising at the national level for the variety of CI programs, seeks for brand awareness, education and capacity building, including partnerships with NGOs for NGO sector improvement.

Caritas Czech Republic

Caritas Czech Republic is a non-profit organization that focuses on humanitarian aid and development cooperation in nearly 30 foreign countries. It is also the largest non-governmental provider of social and healthcare services in the Czech Republic. Thanks to the partnership with Caritas Internationalis and Caritas Europa networks it has partners all over the world. The mission of Caritas Czech Republic is to protect human beings' dignity, from conception to natural death. Its service helps people in need, regardless of their age, gender, political affiliation, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality or religion.


ADRA is a professional, learning and efficient network that embodies integrity and transparency. ADRA Czech Republic has been active in humanitarian relief both at home and worldwide since it was founded in 1992. ADRA reaches across boundaries empowering and speaking out for the at-risk and forgotten to achieve measurable, documented and durable changes in lives and society. ADRA shares the experience from activities in the developing world through the educational projects, which take place in Czech schools and whose aim is to lead the pupils and students to global responsibility. In the Czech Republic, ADRA also runs 12 volunteer centres, which select, train and send volunteers to health care facilities and social care facilities.
